First time playing alone

Tonight is the first night ever where the kids decided to just go downstairs and play. No playing upstairs. No asking to play a game. Just wanted to go downatairs. Thisbis bittersweet, because they are getting older and this is their first step towards independence (and the quiet is nice!) But it's sad that it won't be the same anymore. I love you guys and am happy, but I have a tear in my eye as I type this. Love you!

Today was the day

After dinner, D said , "can I go play with my friends?" instead of staying and carving pumpkins. Her dad is already not cool 😕

Letter to Santa

Delaney left this note for Santa, saying I'm sorry I forgot to tell you, but I also want a Shopkins purse and Shopkins notebpook. Cool cool cool (which is what Santa Sid always says). This is so cute, I can't stand it!!

Kisses

I walk upstairs to tell D I'm leaving.

D (from the bathroom) - kisses.
B - what?
D - kisses before you leave.
B - are you pooping?
D - um...yes.
B - I will wait until you're done.
D - Dad, it's gonna be awile!

Radio stations

D - Mom? 
Mom - Yes.
D - Are there radio stations everywhere?  Like the north pole and the wild west?

New room

Just came downstairs after our first night in the new house and asked D how her first night was in her new room: "It was awesome. Had a blast!"

You told me I had to!

Jo and D were out playing with eachother and the snowmobile. Then, I heard the following:

Jo: Uncle Brent, Delaney put her hands in the mud with no gloves.
Delaney: JO TOLD ME I HAD TO!

Water fountain

The kids love to get drinks from the water fountain at Target and Delaney loves to help!

Knee patches

When D got her skating gear, she made sure she wore her knee and elbow patches...

Teacher

Alison was telling Delaney that because she's doing so well learning her words,  she should teach second grade. Delaney said

"I can't teach second grade...I don't even have a wallet!"

Ready to go for Grandma Julia!

Delaney came into our room this morning and had made her bed...got dressed... brushed her teeth...and combed her hair...bu 6:07.
